Campaigns Committee
What does the committee do?
The Campaigns Committee organises the college welfare campaigns, promoting belonging, inclusion and education. It forms one half of our Castle Welfare Team (alongside the Welfare Committee), putting on campaigns such as SHAG Week, Culture Week, Pride Week and many more! These campaigns often feature key events in the college social calendar, such as the 'SHAG Party' (in our college bar), Belonging formal, and many more events to get involved with! The Campaigns Committee is chaired by the JCR Campaigns Officer and is made up of 2 assistants and 7 Community Officers (LGBTQ+ officer, Ethnic Minorities officer, Northern officer, Disabilities officer, Working Class officer, International Officers, and Livers out Rep).
How can I get involved?
It's easy to get involved with the Campaigns Committee and the events we organise! The events organised by the committee are open to all! In the past, these have included BSL Workshops, matcha making worshops, Movie Nights and Visits to Beamish. Some require you to reserve a spot (such as themed formals or day trips), but often you can just show up! Anything we organise will be advertised on Instagram, TikTok (@castlewelfare) and on the Castle Freshers Facebook group. Committee applications come out towards the end of Easter Term, but there are many opportunities to get involved with events before that!
