Meet the Freps

Meet who will be helping you move in and feel at home at Castle! All Freps are around to help you during Freshers’ Week! We have different Freps with different responsibilities but everyone is available to help you. A summary of each type of frep is as follows:

  • Frep Lead: These have largely organised most of Fresher’s Week, they’ve worked hard to create an exciting, welcoming and informative week!

  • Other Reps: These have an additional responsibility of being a point of contact for those arriving in Durham earlier than Freshers’ Week or those taking part in a Team Durham preseason sports programme.

  • Freps: These are your freps for the week! They’ll be able to help you out or answer any questions.

  • International Freps: These freps will also be around during the International Freshers’ Week before the main Freshers’ Week starts. They’ll be able to help you settle in and acclimatise to living in Durham. After International Freshers’ Week, they’ll be available alongside all of the other freps during the main Freshers’ Week.

  • Welfare Freps: These freps are specially welfare trained and can help you should you feel overwhelmed, homesick or have any other worries. They will run drop in sessions throughout the week!

  • Exec: These are the elected student leaders who run the JCR, they’ll be on hand during your registration and around throughout the week to help you with any queries that you have. You can find out more about each of them and their roles here.
