Hi, I’m Karishma, your Senior Student for 2026/27! I’m in my Final Year at Castle studying English Literature. I have thrown myself into every part of Castle - from Social Committee to CCFS, CCO and so much more, and it is my greatest pleasure to take on the role of Senior Student. I know it all sounds deeply confusing right now, but put simply my job is to lead the JCR Executive Committee, fight for the JCR body’s voice at a University level alongside other presidents and oversee the overall running of the JCR (Junior Common Room). Most importantly, I aspire to make sure that every Castleman feels that same sense of belonging from their very first day here - because that feeling is what makes Castle worth fighting for. This college has been central to some of my closest friendships and most memorable moments, shaped by the warmth that seems to live within the very walls of Castle. I endeavour to keep the traditions that make Castle Castle, but I am equally aware of how intimidating it all can be. So, if you have any questions about the JCR, sports, societies, or are simply looking for someone to talk to, please do come and say hello!
Favourite Castle Memory: Favourite castle memory: the ABBA tribute, silent disco and observatory hill at June ball. There is truly no better feeling than being surrounded by the people that I love in a place that means so much to all of us. Despite our initial reservations - the silent disco is surprisingly one of the best parts of June Ball. The sun rising, making it survivors, and the tears on observatory hill brought us all together in the best way possible.
